What started last summer with a few family events and informal cricket sessions has developed into a growing cricket community at TSV Geiselbullach.
Over the past year, cricket was introduced to people in the local community through family events, small demonstrations and regular weekend sessions. The aim was simple: to bring people together, introduce them to the sport and create an opportunity for everyone interested in cricket in and around Olching to get involved.
This development reached an important milestone with the first official Cricket Kickoff of TSV Geiselbullach, held at the Logoplatz on Saturday 19 September.
The TSV Geiselbullach Blitz played two matches against SV Puchheim Passionates and won both games.
In the first match, Puchheim scored 70/10 from 10 overs. TSV Geiselbullach successfully chased the target, finishing on 71/5 from 8 overs and winning by 5 wickets.
The second match provided a real thriller. TSV Geiselbullach scored 104/7 from 8 overs, with Puchheim finishing on 103/7. TSV Geiselbullach secured a narrow one-run victory, with the match going right down to the final moments.
But the event was about more than just the results. Players, families, supporters and cricket enthusiasts came together at the Logoplatz, creating a great atmosphere and showing the growing interest in cricket in the local community.
TSV Geiselbullach would like to thank everyone who helped make the event possible, from the players and organizers to everyone involved in the ground setup, equipment, logistics and preparation. A special thank you also goes to SV Puchheim Passionates for joining us and for two exciting matches.
The successful kickoff marks the beginning of the next chapter for cricket at TSV Geiselbullach. Regular training sessions, weekend matches and further cricket activities are planned, with the goal of making cricket even more accessible to people in and around Olching.
